Our Story

The story begins 30 years ago when we decided to open our first Bakery in the south of France. Our home was just upstairs, we were sharing a true family love and passion for food.

During 15 years we run our bakery and it was a beautiful adventure, but I was not completely happy, something was missing.

When I was young I went in Ireland a few times, I always dreamed about living here. Few years ago, we decided to move with all the family to Galway.

We went to Kenmare several times and had the idea to open a shop there, a little nest surrounded by the mountains, a beautiful church, the river and this beautiful community spirit.

On Friday the 13th of May 2016, with no “superstition at all“ Maison Gourmet was opened on Henry street in Kenmare.

Georgina Campbell Guide
“Real French patisserie is rare enough outside France, but thanks to the skills of the French chef-owner, Patrick Puech - and also the fact that he and his wife, Emma, import some key ingredients, such as flour and butter, to ensure that authentic taste of France - this is one of the few places where you will find it in Ireland.”
